We have an immediate need for a multi-talented UX / Digital Strategist to join our team.

About the Job

Fastspot’s Strategy team works throughout each project to ensure our products meet and exceed the needs of our clients' target audiences. We collectively envision goals and work with designers and developers to translate those plans into beautiful, usable, and functional websites. The ability to communicate with clients, designers, and developers is crucial for this position—as you will be responsible for employing a variety of user-centered research and strategy methods.

At the beginning of each project, you will conduct stakeholder and user research to help Fastspot better understand our clients’ business needs and target audiences. Beyond direct interaction with clients, you will run individual interviews, focus groups, workshops, and create surveys. You will also conduct competitive analysis, landscape reviews, content audits, analytics insights summaries, and usability testing.

After distilling findings from the discovery phase, the Strategist will help craft a variety of deliverables that outline user needs and define strategy for the lifecycle of the project. These can include but are not limited to creative briefs, user personas, journey maps, functional requirements, information architecture, and content strategy recommendations.

This is a full-time position. Remote applicants and those local to Fastspot's Baltimore-based office will be considered. Travel is currently not required due to COVID-19 but in the future when appropriate it will be. Trips are often two- or three-day client discovery visits.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to translate business recommendations into a creative vision and innovative solutions
  • Professional experience as a user experience strategist or designer, information architect, content strategist, digital strategist, marketing strategist, or user behavior researcher
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort presenting findings and recommendations both internally and to client stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of current UX and strategy practices, design methodologies, development best practices and methodologies, web technologies
  • Required Experience: 
    • Conducting audience research and usability testing
    • Communicating ideas and information through low-fi information design and prototyping
    • Creating functional requirements, including process and decision tree flows
    • Creating and documenting content strategy recommendations
    • Crafting information architecture, taxonomies, and data schema
    • Creating requirements for and utilizing content management systems
    • SEO and writing for the web best practices
    • Structured content creation and content design
  • Additional Beneficial Experience:
    • Configuring tracking and reporting in Google Analytics
    • Copywriting and editing web copy and microcontent for web, email, and social media
    • Creating and/or following brand and communication guidelines and tone of voice guidelines
    • Project scoping and planning
