Our elite client is in search of a Distribution Center Assistant Manager, to work alongside the DC Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the established wholesale distributorship. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing day-to-day operations including receiving, put away, team building, coaching, and ensuring accurate shipment
• Regularly walk the warehouse, identifying and addressing obstacles and opportunities to enhance efficiency
• Audit all shipments to ensure correct items, quantities, and minimize damages, eliminating variances
• Liaise with the DC manager and branch to resolve any shipment issues
• Maintain professional conduct with vendors, employees, and other stakeholders
• Ensure all receipts are checked, received into the system, and put away within 24 hours
• Handle damages, shortages, and overages, ensuring they are correctly processed
• Respond to service center inquiries and issues promptly
• Coordinate with carriers to manage inbound shipment flow
• Direct and participate in maintaining warehouse organization and equipment
• Coordinate training sessions and company events
• Generate and analyze various reports related to warehouse operations
• Enforce safety protocols and train employees on safety procedures
• Ensure daily productivity targets are met
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
• Maximize truckloads, avoid damages, and reduce shipping costs
• Ensure accurate billing and tracking of shipments

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of operational experience in wholesale distribution
• Experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management required
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and lead a team
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations preferred
• Willingness to work in warehouse and outdoor environments, and ability to travel between sites in various weather conditions
