Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors at the front desk
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update necessary information in the electronic medical records system (Epic, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with medical office administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations of the front desk
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a front desk agent or medical receptionist preferred
- Familiarity with office procedures and phone systems
- Knowledge of medical scheduling software (Epic, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks) is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
