Fashion Institute of Technology is Hiring a Temporary Part-Time Student Services Representative II, Precollege Programs Near New York, NY

The Temporary Part-Time Student Services Representative II position is responsible for various tasks related to Precollege Programs.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive assistance to Precollege instructors with their class-related needs, such as obtaining necessary materials, posting student supplies, and resources for their lessons and classroom activities and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot any student-related concerns or issues that arise and collaborate with instructors to find effective solutions.
  • Assist senior staff with scholarship applications, review process, and collection of required documentation.
  • Collect and maintain program-specific data, including weekly collection and recording of required student compliance documents for in-person and remote courses, and all other course paperwork.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, parents, and faculty in inquiries and issues, such as permission to leave early, programmatic questions, student-requested course changes, and associated paperwork process.
  • Send daily student communications and keep track of updates and changes based on programs and dates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and provide support for all student registration-related inquiries and issues as well as disseminate up-to-date information on program policies, and process refund requests and transfers in the Precollege registration system.
  • Collaborate with Precollege senior staff to implement registration updates and programming within the precollege registration system.
  • Support remote learning environments, including class and orientation setup, and provide tech help support to families in the remote classroom space.
  • Support senior team members in responding to medical emergencies and other program-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate personnel to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Provide key support during live and virtual Precollege events, such as opening day check-in and orientation, which may fall on non-traditional schedule days and hours.
  • Create signage and informational packets to assist students with wayfinding and navigating the campus and provide support to students during lunch sessions.
  • Handle seasonal projects as needed.

Job Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-3 years of appropriate business experience.
  • Computer experience with an emphasis on data organization and maintenance is required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, excellent telephone manners, and the ability to work well under pressure are required.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, including Google Classroom and Meet, and Microsoft Excel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of two years in an accredited post-secondary institution of learning and three years of appropriate experience.
  • Experience working with youth populations is highly preferred.
Additional Information:

Salary

Salary: $29.32 per hour

Work Schedule

Days/Hours: 25 hours per week, T-S when programs are in session, M-F when programs are not in session, in-person, work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.

This temporary position is expected to begin on May 16, 2024 and end on August 30, 2024.
