General Worker

FARMERS DIRECT is a leading straw press in the PNW and a string stakeholder to the global straw industry.

Job Description:

The Forklift Operator / General Worker position is an important part of the production team. This position will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to:

• Organize and maintain the work area; cleanliness and organization of work areas; maintain safety and security of company equipment; maintain a clean work site for other employees.
• Perform general work related duties, as assigned by management.
• Follow all safety procedures and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Operate small forklifts with paddles to load shipping containers. Operate large forklifts to load and unload flatbed trucks and the press. Operate the hydraulic straw press.
• Assist with any other duties as assigned by management.

Experience:
The experience requirements are designed to support the operation of the manufacturing production site, which requires that the candidate possess the following:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, and reach above shoulder level with hands and arms.
• Willingness to be trained to operate forklifts and yard goats.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
