We are excited to add a part-time SEASONAL Animal Care Team member (facilities) to our small team at Farm Animal Refuge! Farm Animal Refuge is an animal sanctuary in Campo, CA that focuses on the rescue and sanctuary of formerly farmed animals. The main duties of the team member are daily cleaning of pastures and barns, food prep, and water changes. The ideal candidate is dependable, a hard worker, and respects animals of all species. Ultimately, a successful Animal Care team member will provide the essential daily needs of the animal residents.

Qualifications:

• Prolonged periods of walking and standing
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. Work is predominantly outside in non temperature controlled areas.
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor including: lifting of up to 50 lbs regularly; team-lift heavier amounts regularly, must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, push, stoop, and crawl and other strenuous physical activities
• Demonstrate the ability to follow detailed instructions
• Ability to work well with a variety of people and contribute to a healthy team environment for volunteers, staff, guests, and animal residents
• A history of being reliable and dependable with timeliness and attendance.
• Commitment to the Farm Animal Refuge animal care standards and mission
• Prior experience working with animals or in animal advocacy (volunteer or paid) is not required, but preferred

Job Duties:

•Daily care of residents ranging from feeding, water checks, and habitat cleaning.

•Additional duties may be added with sanctuary needs

Reports to: Animal Care Manager

Hours: 30 hours

Availability: Mon-Friday (6hour shift) preferred*

Compensation: $17/hr.

Job Type: Part-time and seasonal (Prefer May-August) willing to adjust to June-August.
