THE POSITION

The FinOps Analyst role involves not only analyzing data to derive meaningful insights but also managing ongoing administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the department. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.

In this role, you will oversee collect, organize, and analyze data for various presentations. You will work across multiple teams, and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. You will be a subject matter expert in account management, partnering with various stakeholders to balance cost efficiency with forecasted growth. Your role will involve using data-driven insights to guide decisions and improve Cloud cost efficiencies.

You will operate in an environment that values collaboration and continuous improvement. While the primary focus will be on AWS and DataDog cost management, your role may also encompass other Technology Finance activities depending on the organization's needs.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

• Assists with analysis of cloud cost metrics and their associated drivers.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate, forecast, and communicate cloud costs.
• Creates and maintains PowerPoint presentations for stakeholders.
• Creates and maintains portals, dashboards and other information dissemination methods.
• Stays current with cloud cost management tools and services.
• Works with vendors to continually identify new opportunities for cost optimization.
• Produces and distributes timely reports and other analysis related to cloud costs.
• Participates in strategic planning of cloud usage to align with organizational financial targets.
• Mentors and guides engineering teams in cloud cost best practices.
• Establishes and maintains key financial metrics and benchmarks to drive continuous improvement in cloud cost efficiencies.
• Ensures data accuracy, integrity, and consistency by performing regular analysis and evaluations.
• Manages internal processes to create Purchase Orders and track associated payments.
• Manages internal processes to obtain contract approvals and track relevant renewal timelines.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

• Technical understanding of AWS and Datadog services and how they impact costs.
• Experience in with administrative support.
• Comfortable with data analysis and interpretation.
• Strong functional skills in Excel & PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to balance technical and financial considerations in decision-making.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
• A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with cloud technology and financial management trends.
• Have an organizational mindset.
• Relevant certifications in AWS, FinOps, or cloud financial management are a plus.
