JOB SUMMARY
This position is open for LPCs, PLPCs, and Master’s-level students completing their practicum or internship in a Mental Health Counseling or Social Work graduate program. The Counselor renders direct counseling, guidance, case management and education to children and their families, individuals, and couples, under the direction of the Vice President in a manner which ensures maximum benefits of clients.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have professional knowledge of counseling or case-work practice, principles, and theory.
• Must be familiar with a wide array of diagnosis of children and families and the resources needed to treat them.
• Must have knowledge of complex helping systems, how they affect child and family welfare, and the multiple uses of such systems to deliver services.
• Ability to directly apply professional diagnostic skills to assigned.
• Integrity, honesty, cooperativeness and professionalism.
• Clear appreciation of confidentiality and circumspection.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field OR enrollment in graduate program and approval to begin practicum and internship portion of degree requirement
• Deemed eligible to practice in the field of counseling by appropriate licensing body and/or university.
• Two to three years of clinical experience desired, but not required.
