Family Vision Care Optometry is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Concord, CA

We are looking for an Medical Receptionist in our busy, family-oriented Optometry office. We offer a great opportunity to work in a professional office utilizing advanced technology and quality fashion eye wear. Our office is friendly and fun; we consider each team member like an extension of our own families. This important team member has duties that include front office duties, billing, and more.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate outstanding customer service and communication skills, has an outgoing personality along with good organization skills. Previous experience is a plus. While we would prefer candidates who have experience in the optical field, we are willing to train the right person to join our fun and professional team. Additional training will be provided for the right candidate.

This position is full-time and requires that you be available for 8 hour shifts and some Saturday mornings. Compensation is based on experience. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Essential Functions

Greeting patients and answering phones, verifying insurance, checking in patients, scanning charts, maintaining a clean office, checking patients in and out.

Advanced Traing Available: Opportunity to recieve training as an Ophthalmic Technician and learn to work with patients in the exam room and work with cocntact lenses and eyewear.

Job Specifications

Typical candidate has the following skills or abilities:

One to two years of experience in related field

Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquires

Effective written communication skills to clearly document patient visits

Excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills

Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify patient needs

Ability to listen, process transactions and interact with patients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
