Family Veterinary Care of Oakdale, is a family-owned practice looking for a part-time Customer Service Representative/Veterinary Technician Assistant with custodial duties. In this hybrid position, you will be working with a small, motivated, and compassionate team that works hard to better the lives and care for our furry community. You will stay busy assisting fellow technicians and Doctors with educating clients, performing diagnostic tests, radiographs, animal restraint, proper record keeping, completing treatment plans, patient monitoring and as well as providing outstanding customer service at our busy front desk. This position will involve sanitizing of the practice, sterilizing and preparing surgical packs, as well as many other duties. This is an exciting and fun opportunity, and the ideal candidate will have experience and confidence as a veterinary assistant or customer service representative.

Duties:

- Client communication: Answering phones, Responding to text messages and e-mail's promptly and professionally.

- Greeting clients and pets
- Assist veterinarians and Technicians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations and blood draws
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Take X-rays
- Collect, analyze, and correctly prepare laboratory samples
- Monitor the health and condition of animals before, during, and after procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment

-Sterilizing Surgical instruments and preparing surgical packs

-Ability to deep clean ALL areas of the practice

-Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a veterinary technician program preferred
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital required
- Knowledge of animal behavior, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Proficient in using veterinary equipment and technology
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine

Schedule:

• 4-6 hour shifts
• Saturdays are REQUIRED

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
