Family Tree Nursery is Hiring a Sales Person/ Customer Representative Near Shawnee, KS
Basic Functions: our sales people are natural people persons. They set the tone for how our customers perceive our stores. One must be comfortable in taking the time to engage our customers and to teach and to sell them products they are looking for that will send them home with likely success. Product knowledge is not essential at first to this position, but a willingness to learn our products is a must.
General Responsibilities:
1. Loves to learn about products and to share that knowledge and expertise to our customers.
2. Willingness to engage multiple customers in a day, and in a fast paced environment.
3. Flexible in adapting to the times and needs of customers and of business. Will know when to invest more time and when to be thorough yet prompt in customer interactions.
4. Able to listen to our customers and to coach them to products that will lead to their personal success in their lawn care/ gardening needs.
5. Willing to clean, sweep, organize, stock, and pay attention to the upcoming needs of the retail space.
6. Needs to like the outdoors.
7. Comfortable to be on your feet for at minimum 8 hours and with minimal breaks.
8. Comfortable with details and potential paperwork (including sales tickets and receipts).
9. Able to work with multiple people and in a team like environment.
10. Willing to receive feedback in order to excel in one's position.
11. Willing to quickly learn about our products and to comfortably reiterate that knowledge to our customers.
12. Willingness to move around and to fill in any other areas where team member support is needed, and as directed by leadership.
13. Able to lift 25 pounds repeatedly throughout the day and even 50 pounds as needed.
This is not a leadership role.
