The mission of Family Support Services is to be the leader in providing safety, stability, and quality of life for all children by working with the community to strengthen the family unit.

Job Summary:

This position is essential to enhancing awareness, supporting recruitment efforts of FSS, and providing marketing support as needed while also increasing partnerships in the community to benefit children in care. The position reports to the Community Engagement and Recruitment Manager but works collaboratively with the recruitment team and across the organization.

The position has oversight of specific events and fundraising, volunteer programs along with the required reporting of these activities.

Critical to the benefit of children and families is the marketing and communication of supports and services. This position provides marketing and communication expertise to internal departments to support family preservation, kinship, fostering, and adoptions.

Position requires continual evolution and enhancements of programs and efforts to build relationships and partnerships to assist with in-kind donations and/or monetary contributions. Additional responsibilities include creating budgets (reflective of expenses and donated funds) and maintaining variance reporting.

Essential Duties:

  • Relationship building to establish partnerships and or solicit contributions to support programs and initiatives for the benefit of children and families in care and foster parents. To include system of tracking of outreach, participation and FSS on-going outreach to grow and establish relationships. Relationship building extends to DCF and child protective investigators as well. 40%
  • Content generation and impact story gathering and writing to support recruitment and engagement activities.15%
  • Planning and execution of strategic volunteer programs 15%
  • Post Campaign/Marketing Service: Coordinate debrief and draft recommendations for proposed solutions to what worked and did not work to enhance quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Provides reporting and metrics for on-going reference and quarterly reporting. 20%
  • Other duties as assigned and special projects 10%
  • Attend appropriate meetings As Needed

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited university in college degree preferred in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications, or business.

Experience:

Minimum of two years demonstrated experience in: Relationship building, marketing, communications, and strategic marketing and communication plans.

Must have creative problem-solving skills, work well under pressure, strong customer service mindset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, along with knowledge and ability.

The effective speaker before small and large groups.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to build rapport with donors, volunteers, clients and the public with discretion and a customer-service mindset
  • Clear a Level II background screening.
  • Clear a reference check
  • Clear a local background check from the county in which you reside.
  • Clear a substance abuse screen.
  • Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment.
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check and must be insurable under the company’s automobile policy.
  • Provide copy of automobile insurance.
  • Provide proof of and maintain a minimum personal auto liability insurance level $100,000/$300,000 if deemed to be a driving risk.
  • Provide a copy of all certifications and degrees prior to your first day of employment.
