Job Summary

This is a professional supervisory position requiring expertise in the overall management and delivery of services to kinship homes. This position is responsible for directing a team of employees for the provision of services, supports, and benefit enrollment to ensure placement stability of children placed in kinship care.

Job Duties

  • Oversight of staff workload and workflow, staff development, recognition, performance management, policy interpretation and enforcement, communication (team meetings and one-on-ones), etc..
  • Responsible for collecting all pertinent data for monthly reports and provide information to Kinship Manager.
  • Work cooperatively with FSS provider agencies and other service providing agencies to identify and address the provision of family support and preservation services, flexible funds spending, school readiness, and other available services necessary to support the child’s safety, growth, and healthy development.
  • Assist in coordination of kinship caregiver trainings, events etc.
  • Ensure staff are exchanging information and communicating effectively to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Provide oversight and ensure deliverables for kinship grants
  • Ensure monitoring, tracking, and submission of licensing files
  • Ensure agency compliance and statutory requirements for relative caregiver benefit enrollment.
  • Attend kinship caregiver trainings, events, and support groups.
  • Assess current policies and protocols for efficiency and innovative solutions to improve practice.
  • To treat kinship caregivers, the public, and co-workers with courtesy, respect, and dignity and present a positive public image
  • Perform other duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum two years of professional child welfare experience required. Prior management experience in a non-profit/child welfare organization preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and the successful completion of Child Welfare certification training by DCF for Family Services Counselors/Licensing Counselors within 12 months of hire (required).
