Job Details: Family Services of Westchester is looking for a part time Veteran Peer Mentor for our Veterans Program. This position is based in White Plains, NY and works throughout Westchester County and remotely.

POSITION TITLE: Peer Mentor

SALARY: $20/hour

SCHEDULE: Variable days and hours based on client and program needs. 25 hours per week max.

SUPERVISED BY: Director, Veterans Program / Vet2Vet

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Establish and maintain regular (at least weekly) contact with assigned veterans through in-person meetings.
• Utilize shared experience to provide attentive mentorship, social interaction, and welfare monitoring to assigned veterans.
• Direct assigned veterans to appropriate resources and assist them with contact and application processes.
• Accurately report interaction with assigned veterans to the program director through established reporting systems.
• Assist with other program duties and events as assigned by program director.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School (required), U.S. Military Veteran (required), Peer Support Specialist (preferred)
