When traumatic situations occur, our staff is there to assist the individual or family with their journey of healing and recovery. Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.
Family Services is recruiting a Teacher to become a part of an Integrated Service Team that meets the unique needs of children placed in our live-in Residential Treatment Program. Children served in our program usually range in age from 12 to 17 and are experiencing behavioral and emotional problems. This position requires a person who is committed to developing strong working relationships with children, understanding their unique needs and responding to these needs in a collaborative, empowering and problem-solving manner. Duties include direct classroom instruction for approximately 8-10 students; classroom instruction using a web-based program for approximately 8-10 students; individual instruction and tutoring of students based on individual need, assessment, and educational planning; overseeing Individual Education Plan (IEP) planning for clients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to teamwork are essential.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree; a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education is preferred. A license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for Special Education for grades 9-12 is required.
