Position Summary:
Responsible for providing emergency mental health evaluations in person for RI Public Schools including 30 days of follow-up. Responsible for providing crisis intervention services via telephone or in person, for people contacting Children’s Mobile Crisis when not on call for the Public School System.


SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide crisis intervention evaluation/ or services with and on behalf of, patient/family as needed and/or student in the school, home, and community.
  • Provide clinical interventions in the school, home, and community to clients utilizing evidence informed practices.
  • Conduct a clinical assessment utilizing a standardized tool for assigned patients and their families, and/or student.
  • Complete an individual/family action plan that addresses identified needs.
  • Link and refer individuals and/or students, /families to appropriate culturally relevant resources and informal support within their community when that is appropriate and sufficient to meet their needs.
  • Conduct a high level of care coordination with client's school, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Completes all appropriate paperwork and documentation as required.
  • Attends regular CCBHC/School Based staff meetings.
  • Maintains appropriate standards of confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA and agency guidelines.
  • Works as a member of the Crisis Response Team and collaborates with CCBHC staff and treatment providers.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, mental health or related field; Independent license preferred, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT.
    • Excellent crisis management and intervention skills needed.
    • High level of flexibility and ability to work within a school setting.
    • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Possession of valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation, registration and proof of current automobile insurance is required.
    • Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
