Intake/Residential Coordinator

Description: Intake/Residential Coordinator functions as a member of the intake/assessment and residential treatment team. This position is responsible for coordinating intake/ assessments and residential care as well as organize program staff and resources in such a way that promotes positive treatment outcomes and meets the needs and objectives of our clients and Family Service Agency of Burbank.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Preferred applicants would be either a Marriage and Family Therapist or Social Work Trainee or Associate. Able to work cooperatively with agency staff without extensive supervision. Possess crisis management skills. Model self-sufficiency, personal responsibility, moral character, flexibility, hard work, determination, care, concern and planning. Proficiency with multiple computer applications and systems.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will support the Family Service Agency in word and deed. Applicants should have a passion for: service, excellent work, and dedication to the FSA philosophies and mission statement. Applicants are expected to be flexible, accessible, responsible, professional and to assist clients and residents in achieving goals through planning, education and implementation of objectives and provision of appropriate support services.

Typical Duties

  • Take calls from clients interested in agency services and insures that all interested persons are contacted within 24 hours, if not immediately.
  • Triages calls for appropriateness of service within the agency and provides referrals for those whom our services are not appropriate.
  • Assesses for need of crisis intervention and refers to appropriate internal and external referrals.
  • Sets appointments for intake assessments.
  • Responsible for quality control of files prior to permanent assignment to therapist.
  • Participates in assigning of clients to therapists after review of file with Director
  • Insures that all appropriate documentation is obtained and included in file, i.e. identification, court documents, releases of information and other necessary documents.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality.
  • Maintain positive work relationships in a respectful and collaborative manner.
  • Maintain good communication to ensure others have necessary information.
  • Sensitivity to working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Performs other job and agency related duties as assigned
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of residential program directives.
  • Responsible for coordination of care for individuals and families residing in FSA residential programs.
  • Responsible to build and maintain community within each residential site.
  • Responsible to build and maintain sense of personal responsibility and self-sufficiency in all individuals, families, communities and the overall program.
  • Responsible to oversee property use by both program and residents.
  • Responsible to begin application and interview process with potential residents.
  • Responsible to orient new clients to programs
  • Responsible to assign therapist to clients as well as guide and support therapists in their work with clients.
  • Responsible for completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
  • Responsible to participate as a cooperative member of the FSA staff.
  • Responsible to communicate timely and effectively with residents, staff and management.
  • Responsible to assist with trainings.
  • Responsible for identification of resources in support of residents and program and clients
  • Responsible to be available to assist clients in emergency situations.
  • Responsible to perform all duties in a competent, professional manner.
  • Responsible to perform any other duties assigned by the Program Director and those required by virtue of working in a community non-profit

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Work from an accredited college or university.
  • 40 Hour Domestic Violence Advocacy Training
  • Working toward a Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mental health agency, preferably with office experience.

And Excellent verbal/written skills.
