Junior Accountant position:

This position is responsible for managing daily financial and accounting tasks. Their main duties include preparing and maintaining financial statements, compiling reports and preparing balance sheets. This position collects, processes, manages and reconciles credit card statements, petty cash, deposits, gift cards and flex funds reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields required.
  • At least one year of experience in Finance Department required.
  • Proficient with computer and basic sofware knowledge required.
  • Proficient in UKG systems preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconciled bank accounts monthly. AP/Payroll/MMA
  • Enter early interest income from other CD accounts.
  • Manage yearly ACA compliance and endure accurate filing to IRS yearly.
  • Prepare, track and reconcile yearly Clothing allowance distribution.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintained records and files and reconciling accounts.
  • Fixed Assets, Benefits, United Way, Garnishments, Operating expenses allocations, Gift card monthly JE, depreciations.
  • Review and updated detailed schedule of fixed assets, accumulated depreciation and prepaid expenses.
  • Ensure that all liability accounts are balanced, review accounts for discrepancies to properly reconcile differences.
  • Manage and track benefits deductions and communicate with HR if there are discrepancies.
  • Organize and update financial records.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
  • Log, track and reconcile monthly Gift cards issued.
  • Manage, track, add and dispose of all assets (CPU’s, Furniture, Vehicles, Laptops and cellphones).
  • Prepare, track and reconcile bus pass requests and monthly payments. Communicate and process requests via bpassrequest@frcflorida.org mailbox.
  • Ensure that equipment accessories are in stock and ready to be issued with equipment.
  • Work closely with IT specialists on site to prepare and clean equipment for new hires/terminations.
  • File and maintain paper records for Journal entries and voids.
  • Submit monthly check requests for Verizon, bus passes, New York life, Data Link and United way (quarterly)
  • Monitor, approve, submit and track withdrawal requests for Client Trust Fund and reimbursement.
  • Maintain Datalink (Instamed) portal and communicate with our contact if issues arise.
  • Assist with deposits and ensure correct entry for monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Participates in the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs of the agency.
  • Contributes to the promotion and understanding of multi-cultural differences in the workplace and in the
  • Complies with relevant JCAHO standards and regulations.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
