Family Practice Center in Atlanta, GA is looking for an insurance verification specialist to join our 49 person strong team. We are located on 993 Johnson Ferry Rd Ne F210. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged.

Responsibilities

Responsible for verifying patient's insurance information and obtaining authorization prior to scheduled visits in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, internal standards and procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

*Ensures active insurance coverage *Locate, and verify current insurance and demographic information for patient and/or guarantor and update in system in efforts to support proper bill release *Resolves any issues with coverage *Interpret coverage limitations and discuss with patients and providers *Document financial and pre-certification information according to defined process in a timely manner. *Complete insurance verification on each patient and call patient back if unable to obtain verification with insurance carrier *Set up payment arrangements when applicable *Multi-tasking and completing assigned tasks daily *Perform in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

*2 years experience in healthcare insurance verification *Experience with an EHR (Epic preferred) *Knowledge of the content, intent and application of HIPAA. *Knowledge of insurance industry and basic medical terminology/abbreviations preferred. *Demonstrated positive professional customer service in all patient, staff, and visitor contacts. *Clear and effective communication skills. *Familiar with Microsoft Office software. *Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism. *A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment. *Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
