Family Health Matters is Hiring a Patient Services Associate (Front Office) Near Anaheim, CA

Family Health Matters (FHM) is a rapidly growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving families and the community in Anaheim, CA and surrounding areas. As an FQHC we serve all people with quality healthcare, dignity, and respect. Among our wide array of services, we offer comprehensive primary care, OB-GYN, vision and mental/behavioral health, patient navigation and outreach and enrollment services.

Our team is seeking a Patient Services Associate to join the team! The Patient Services Associate works closely with patients and clinical teams to create positive patient experiences in support of Family Health Matters Community Health Center's mission to work in partnership with our community to improve the lifelong health and well-being of our patients.

The best candidate for this position:

  • is bilingual in Spanish with strong customer service skills
  • has previous successful experience working in a medical clinic or healthcare environment
  • has knowledge and experience working with a Sliding Fee Program, Medi-Cal, CalOptima, Presumptive Eligibility Programs (CHDP, Family Pact, Every Woman Counts, etc) Commercial Insurances and Medicare
  • has reliable attendance and a positive attitude at all times to coworkers and patients and is a dependable, self-motivated, proactive team player

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Delivers quality patient customer service by welcoming patients and visitors or answering incoming phone calls or contacting patients by phone to confirm, remind and follow up no show clinic appointments and scheduled services exam.
  • Maintains complete and accurate patient records, including entering data into the EHR and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Schedule and re-schedule patient appointments in EHR.
  • Check insurance eligibility including Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurances.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area and providing updates regarding patient of delays.
  • Collects co-pays and records transaction(s) as directed.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Follows site-specific appointment protocols and keep documentation up-to-date to ensure compliance.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Medical Community Health Center's setting preferred.
  • Other related certificates or diplomas relevant to the current position field

Specific Requirements:

  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Able to work in a high volume/fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
