Our family medicine practice focuses on prevention and wellness and we are looking for a skilled medical assistant. 2 years of previous practice experience is required for this position, preferably in family medicine. Previous Athena EHR experience is desirable.

This position entails greeting patients as they arrive in the practice, detailed vitals and statistics as well as electronic chart documentation. Reviewing medical history's and documenting medication use. Assisting the physicians as needed for exams, injections, vaccines, etc. In office testing includes EKG, spirometry, vision screening, hearing screening, performing phlebotomy to obtain laboratory specimens, urine collection. The employee must use the EHR to process specimens for labs and resulting back into the patient chart.

Precertification authorization tasks with insurance companies are required for medication, diagnostic testing and procedures. The employee must be able to work with multiple hospitals and facilities, thru scheduling portals and by telephone, to complete ordered laboratories and diagnostic testing.
