Workers provide BHI Services(skill teaching) through the managed care organizations in Iowa to clients with a diagnosed mental health condition. The goal to teach the individual and family how to effectively deal with the symptoms of the diagnosed mental disorder.
A worker sets up appointments with the family and meets with them for the designated amount of time. Most appointments are in the afternoon/evening due to most clients being school age. With each client, the worker completes casenotes and develops a implementation plan and subsequent plan updates or discharges.
Workers also attend necessary meetings, court hearings, and other related tasks. Workers have a great responsibility in making recommendations and in providing services to their clients but also a great opportunity to help Iowa's children and families improve and grow!
Their is no other required office time other than your weekly supervision once per week and one monthly staff meeting per month. You set your own schedule All paperwork can be completed at home (if you have a computer), or completed at the office on computers provided by Family Connections.

In order to provide BHI Services in the State of Iowa, all employees must have a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas:
Employees must have a valid Driver's License (due to the likelihood of transporting clients from time to time), and own their own vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
