Family Centered Services of Alaska is Hiring a Clinical Manager (Residential Treatment) Near Fairbanks, AK

About Us

Family Centered Services of Alaska (FCSA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in 1989 by Fairbanks, Alaska community members committed to helping children with a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs. Today, FCSA has over 100 employees dedicated to our mission of providing unconditional care to children and their families.

FCSA provides behavioral and mental health services to youth aged 5-19. Services include outpatient therapy, education, foster care, and short or long-term residential treatment. FCSA is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and was one of the first organizations to be licensed by the state to establish, recruit, and monitor foster homes.

Smart Start Learning Center is a subsidiary of FCSA and provides daytime care to families in our community. Employees of FCSA are eligible to enroll their children in childcare services and enjoy a discount on their monthly tuition (contingent on enrollment availability).

About the Job

Family Centered Services of Alaska is searching for a Clinical Manager to oversee clinical operations in the Residential Treatment Center. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the development, compliance, and overall efficacy of the clinical operations. The Clinical Manager will collaborate and work in conjunction with RTC departments and the leadership team to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and unconditional care.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients in coordination with their treatment team.
  • Facilitate and participate in treatment or clinically-related meetings, case consultations, staff meetings, training sessions, supervisions, and provide mentoring to promote effective communication, planning, implementation, development, team cohesion, and clinical excellence.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and other departments to coordinate holistic care and implement programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise assigned staff in a manner that fosters a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional growth and development.
  • Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Evaluate program outcomes and conduct continuous improvement efforts that address TROF trends, client and staff satisfaction, clinical efficacy, quality of care, policy compliance, and census outcomes.
  • Provide direct oversight or collaborate with other departments to meet or exceed assigned benchmarks of key performance indicators.
  • Ensure clinical documentation and program compliance meets state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, licensing requirements, and agency policies.
  • Conduct internal audits and respond to any regulatory inquiries or audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Implement risk management protocols to mitigate potential liabilities and ensure client safety.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including referring agencies, families, and community partners.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in the field of residential treatment and mental health care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited academic program in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, or related field required.
  • Current State of Alaska Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent preferred.
  • Four years post master’s degree clinical experience, and a minimum of two years supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a treatment team.
  • Ability to train, evaluate, and supervise employees, including interns, with strong leadership skills to positively influence others to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of Alaska childcare, Alaska child and family service system, Medicaid regulations, DMHDD, and juvenile justice regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Knowledge of accreditor standards for Behavioral Health Services.
  • Physical ability to employ verbal and physical aggression control techniques after being certified.
  • Current First aid and CPR certificate.
  • Current Alaska driver’s license, personal vehicle insurance, and driving history that allows for insurability by FCSA auto insurance carrier.
  • Freedom from criminal convictions that may adversely affect the employee’s ability to work safely with children, contingent on a fingerprint & background records check conducted by the State of Alaska Division of Health Care Services Background Check Unit.

This position is a driving position. Applicants will be required to submit a driving record if selected for the position.

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to State of AK regulations and must pass a State of AK Background Check.
