Family and Friends Veterinary Care is Hiring a Veterinary Technician Near Fort Collins, CO

We are currently looking for an experienced veterinary technician at a busy small practice in the heart of Fort Collins. We are open Monday - Saturday. We offer flexible schedules and great benefits. Full time hours include four 10-hour shifts with three days off.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting veterinarians and other technicians
  • Animal restraint and handling
  • Dental cleaning and radiographs
  • Client communication and education
  • IV catheter placement
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assisting in and preparing for surgery
  • Answering phones
  • Understanding and explaining pricing
  • Greeting clients and patients
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Checking patients in & out, including receiving payment
  • Making reminder & follow-up phone calls
  • Directing the flow of the clinic
  • General cleaning & office duties
  • Providing exceptional customer service/client care
  • Managing online bookings
  • Handling and restraining small animals
  • Provides support to other technicians, supervisors
  • Scanning, emailing and faxing records

Ideal Candidates will:

  • One or more years of experience as a veterinary technician
  • Have a pleasant and professional phone manner
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have good oral & written communication skills
  • Be able to multitask effectively
  • Be able to work effectively in a team environment & independently
  • Have a great attitude

Education/Experience: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. One year of work experience, and previous experience working with animals desired.

Knowledge: Knowledge of animal breed, behavior, and handling; Knowledge of animal health and ability to identify illness desired; Knowledge of Cornerstone and Microsoft a plus!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
