Title: Science National Honor Society Advisor

Location: Systemwide

2021- 2022 year

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Massachusetts Licensure as a Science Teacher 
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Successful experience teaching students with a wide range of abilities, interests and needs.
• Such other alternatives as the Superintendent may deem acceptable and appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise all functions of the Science National Honor Society chapter including selection and induction of new members, completion of chapter service projects, and discipline/dismissal procedures.
• Serve as liaison to the faculty, administration, student body, and community regarding matters related to the Science National Honor Society.
• Maintain files for the chapter, including membership records, activities, selection procedures, membership obligation guidelines, chapter bylaws, and financial transactions.
• Review active chapter members on a regular basis for compliance with Science National Honor Society standards and obligations.
• Work with chapter officers to assist them in their duties.
• Attend meetings of the faculty council and renew affiliation with the national office annually.
• Review all chapter documents to ensure that the policies and procedures of the chapter comply with the National Science Honor Society guidelines.

REPORTS TO: Science Department Head

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 2021-22 School year

SALARY: According to FEA Unit A Contract- Appendix B-2
