Job Summary:
Fallas Family Vision is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our established, private optometry practice. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical billing claims and ensuring timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding, collection systems, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of medical billing claims
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Resolve billing discrepancies and issues
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries
- Maintain patient records and confidentiality
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding, billing regulations, and insurance requirements

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related role
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10)
- Familiarity with medical collection systems and processes
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software; Experience with Revolution EHR is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
