The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
Position: CTE Child Care Instructor – Durfee High School
Job Description: To provide opportunities for the vocational student to gain the knowledge and practical experience in
Early Childhood Education necessary to gain an entry level position in the Child Care field.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. To coordinate and oversee the operation of a Daycare Program for newborns and toddlers.
2. To provide a Daycare environment conducive to early education career based learning
3. To be familiar with all aspects of the Early Child Care curriculum/frameworks and be able to teach it effectively.
4. To collaborate with Co-Op Coordinator to appropriately place Early Education & Care students within the community
5. To be familiar with the Office for Child Care regulations in order to maintain the same guidelines during instruction
and supervision
6. To provide realistic, understandable, and measurable behavioral objectives that the students can achieve
7. To provide necessary instruction to help the student reach their maximum learning potential
8. To work closely with the Career and Technical Education Director or representative in any program adjustments
Required Qualifications:
1. Day care Experience
2. Massachusetts Department of Education Certification as an Early Childhood Teacher or Daycare Director Certification
3. High School teaching experience at the secondary level preferable
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable
alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the
Fall River School Committee.
Reports To: Director of CTE Programs and Principal
Supervises: Program Paraprofessionals
Terms of Employment: Salary, benefits, and length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established
according to the FREA contract.
Salary Range (2023-2024) 48,089 to 84,113
