Welder Fabricator

JOB SUMMARY

Fabricates and repairs material by using the appropriate welding processes and techniques in the vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Welding is done utilizing the SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (flux-core), and SAW (submerged arc) process, when necessary, as called out by the drawing.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
• Prefer candidate with GMAW and GTAW experience in aluminum and steel.
• Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, drill gun, and grinders.
• Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool.
• Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
• Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times.
• Ability to inspect welds to determine that they meet standards and/or specifications a must.
• Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables.
• Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred.
• AWS D1.1 and ASME Sec IX certifications preferred.
• Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred.
• Two to five years Oilfield related welding experience.
• Weld tacks, fillets, and butts in all positions at production rate.
• Ability to weld in the horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions using MIG and Stick type welding.
• Ability to inspect welds to determine that they meet standards and/or specifications.
• Perform carbon Arc welding and back-gouging as required with proficiency and at a production rate.
• Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding, and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Shop and field work.
• Exposure to air particles, such as dust, chemical (paint, oil, gas, diesel fumes) and weld smoke.
• Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas.
• Ability to perform work outside with prolonged exposure to the environment including but not limited to hot, cold, wet, dry, rain, and/or snow conditions.
• Long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, or similar activities may be necessary in tight spaces as well as elevated heights.

TRAVEL

• Travel 50-75%.
• Travel to Falcon Drilling drill site locations.

Location: INDIANA, PA AREA (PA-OH-WV)

Work Schedule: NON-ROTATION (must be local), FULL TIME EXPECTED OVERTIME

Pay Schedule: HOURLY ALLOWANCES, BIWEEKLY
