Falck is a is a global emergency medical services provider originating from Denmark that services 3 states in the US including: California, Oregon, and Colorado. Falck has been operating in the US since 2010 and is one of the largest private providers of emergency medical services in the country today. Our BLS and ALS services impact not only the lives of our patients, but their families and communities.

Falck’s purpose is to “advance sustainable healthcare to meet people’s changing needs.” Falck intends to launch a non-profit Falck Health Institute to develop quality in mobile care operations and educate and train future Emergency Medical Service.

Position Summary:

The Director of the Falck Health Institute will be responsible for leading an educational center with the purpose of providing training and certification courses for EMS positions. The Institute will initially focus on Emergency Medical Technicians (Basic) with the vision of expanding to EMT (Advanced) and Paramedic positions in the future. The Director will also establish quality initiatives for mobile care operations and will set up the institute as a quality and research center.

Initially, the role will lead the start up and establishment of the Falck Health Institute working with Falck USA leaders and external organizations (e.g., State of California) as needed. The role will then evolve into the leader of the Falck Health Institute, managing day-to-day operations.

Compensation: starting: 120,000 per year

 Responsibilities:

Initial responsibilities for Falck Health Institute start up:

  • Finalize and submit Falck’s application to the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE)
  • Develop student agreement(s)
  • Support recruitment of required personnel to operate the Falck Health Institute
  • Review and finalize initial curriculum for the EMT-B program, including establishing a schedule for the program
  • Ensure all Clinical Education Specialists are properly trained and prepared to conduct courses
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure all needed equipment, supplies, and other materials are in place
  • Establish and implement an enrollment process or system for students, including a process for collecting tuition payments
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop and execute a recruitment strategy for EMT-B students

Ongoing responsibilities of an operational Falck Health Institute:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the Falck Health Institute’s operations and programs
  • Monitor and manage the overall budget for the Falck Health Institute
  • Identify and monitor clinical Key Performance Indicators and communicate with appropriate stakeholders to measure overall performance
  • Oversees and reports on the Falck Health Institute’s results for the Board of Directors
  • Ensure curriculum are up-to-date and in line with organizational goals and objectives, or contractual requirements, as needed
  • Collaborate with Falck’s 911 operations, where appropriate, to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments
  • Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of Falck Health Institute Staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify opportunities to implement new programs and adjustments, as needed
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements for educational programs
  • Implement and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Healthcare or other related field of study required
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in healthcare education, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in curriculum development, program evaluation, and instructional design.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical leaders, educators, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to manage a team and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements for educational programs.
  • Experience as a healthcare clinician highly desired but not required
