Faith Community Adult Family Group Homes is looking for talented and compassionate caregivers to assist in providing loving, caring and quality services to the residents in our Racine group home facilities.

Resident Care Specialist Job Description

Position: Caregiver

Position Reports to: Home Manager

Position: Hourly

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin and a driving record that allows applicant to be covered by agency insurance policy required.
  • Prior caregiver experience preferred but will train competent personnel.
  • Maintain CPR certification for a healthcare provider.
  • Complete training and maintain competency with company standards of care.
  • Basic computer skills (typing, email, and data entry).
  • Must possess a sincere desire to provide individualized care to resident’s in the care of Faith Community Homes.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and when given guidance and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, guardians, and coworkers.
  • Ability to work as a team player in maintaining consistent quality care.
  • Availability to fill any open work shift at any of Faith Communities Homes when necessary.

Position summary:

The caregiver provides various means of resident personal care needs, activities and other related services as delegated. The caregiver is also responsible for the daily upkeep of the home and the basic needs of the resident’s in the home.

Essential job responsibilities include:

  • Assisting resident’s with activities of daily living ranging from supervision to total care.
  • Housekeeping (laundry, dusting, organizing, vacuuming, disinfecting of surfaces, and other assigned tasks).
  • Preparing meals/ snacks.
  • Paper and computer documentation of provided resident care.
  • Ability to take vital signs and blood glucose readings.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and honestly with all employees and residents.
  • Adhere to infection control/ OSHA standards.
  • Maintains the safety of the resident’s in the home.
  • Assist with medication administration of the resident’s.
  • Reliable attendance and flexible scheduling.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Proficient telephone and communication skills.
  • Respect cultural differences of resident’s and coworkers.
  • Maintain the privacy of the resident’s care, health, and daily routine in accordance to Graceful Aging, Inc. and federal HIPPA laws.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed
