M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at our East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.
This role is a 0.625 FTE, 50 hours per pay period, 10 hour day shift (9am-7pm), every weekend. Complete services range from primary care, emergency care and the delivery of thousands of babies each year, to care of patients with the most sophisticated conditions. Our emergency team partners with the full spectrum of medical specialties and ancillary services including anesthesiology, intensive care, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, radiology, rehabilitation and surgery. Areas of specialization include solid organ and blood and marrow transplantation, heart disease and cancer.
Do you have a special curiosity about the Emergency Department? UMMC East Bank Emergency Department is a 28 bed Level 3 Trauma Center. We deliver care to about 80 patients per day and 30,000 patients annually. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies and are cross-trained to the Observation Unit. Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Transport, and Case Managers. We provide prompt, quality care around the clock, when patients are faced with medical or behavioral emergencies.
Responsibilities Job DescriptionThe registered nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations.
The scope of practice extends from a patient’s entry into the emergency room and continues from triage through discharge. Care is centered on patients and families experiencing acute or chronic, actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems. Unique to emergency nursing are processes that require resuscitation and/or stabilization
