M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital located in Maplewood, MN! We're looking for a dedicated Nursing Station Technician (NST) to care for patients on our NICU unit.
This role offers a schedule of 48 hours per pay period (0.6 FTE) on the Night Shift, working 8 hour shifts, Variable schedule, and includes every other weekend.

The starting base rate of pay for the Nursing Station Technician is $22.50. Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

About this Unit:
Our unit offers 29 LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery & post-partum) beds plus 2 triage rooms. We have 1 water birth room and 2 OR suites. We provide single room care, which provides patients and families with outstanding care, all within the same room throughout their stay. We average 200 deliveries a month and manage many outpatients daily for antenatal testing. Daily census is 18 mom and baby couplets. Our NICU is newly remodeled, and we are pleased to expand our care to higher risk patients (28 weeks gestational age).
Responsibilities Job DescriptionThe NST is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
Work under direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care while functioning as a nursing assistant and as a health unit coordinator. Duties may include: patient cares, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, care of environment (by stocking, cleaning, and maintaining rooms) and use of equipment, phones, clerical, transcription, and coordinate the flow of communication on the unit. May work as a patient care attendant.
Performs delegated nursing functions to assigned patients including personal care, ambulation, exercise, nutrition, specimen collection and vital signs:

License/Certification/Registration
Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position
