Fairview Health Services is Hiring a Nurse Manager - Behavioral Float Pool Near Minneapolis, MN

Overview

M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN, is looking for a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our Behavioral Float Pool department. The Nursing Manager leads nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, this includes: nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities.

About our Behavioral Float Pool

  • The Team consists of about 30 RNs and 60 Psych Associates.
  • RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to unstable/stable patients within the Mental Health department. Float pool RNs are able to demonstrate their flexibility in the work environment and prompt response to changes in workload and assignments, as they are trained to work on multiple different units and serve a wide variety of patients.

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Expectations:

· Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

· Plans, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

· Runs equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.

· Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.

· Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

· Responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.

· Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

· Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.

· Drive improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.

· In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/standard process clinical care is being delivered.

· Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.

· Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.

· Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.

· Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing

Experience

· Four Years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role.

License/Certification/Registration

· Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.

· BLS certification

Preferred

Education

· Master’s Degree in Nursing

License/Certification/Registration

· ANCC or AONL Certification
