M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our team at the M Health Fairview Endocrine Clinic located in Maplewood, MN. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state! The M Health Fairview Endocrine Clinic is a growing and collaborative clinic. Our clinic hours are 7AM to 5:30PM Monday - Friday, so no evenings, weekends, or holiday. This provides an excellent work life balance!
This is a casual (0.01 FTE) opening, meaning there are no guaranteed hours or scheduled shifts per pay period and the role is not eligible for benefits.
This role will cover the endocrine, rheaumatology, and infectious disease clinics.
Responsibilities Job DescriptionAs a member of the patients care team, a Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant will collect information and detail the patient's visit. The MA adheres to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting communication with all members of the team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
Medical Assistants and Fairview deliver care as delegated by the patients Physicians, or RN. They are able to prioritize work based on need, available resources, patient preferences, provider schedule, and work in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner as well as other health care team members. You may also perform high, and low risk, technical procedures during your daily work which could include: medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures which may include lab draws
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN
Basic Life Support Certification
Ambulatory Care Experience
AAMA Certification
Orthopedic or Rheumatology experience/knowledge is preferred.
Excellent customer service, public relations and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload while working independently
Ability to adapt to change and engage in ongoing process improvement
Flexibility to work at other sites is encouraged
