Mental Health Credentialing & Billing Coordinators for Progressive Nonprofit Organization
An active and growing 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization is looking for both part and full time insurance credentialing and billing coordinators, to support our psychotherapists.
We’re looking to continue building our credentialing and billing team with like-minded, competent and dedicated professionals, with all levels of experience. Location is flexible, with a significant portion of duties able to be performed via telecommuting/remotely. Hours are flexible, although the coordinator must be available for a significant portion of standard work week (i.e. day time hours Monday – Friday).
Compensation: $18 - $25 per hour (depending on experience and position), with health benefits and paid time off for full time positions.
Responsibilities: As a team, the credentialing/billing coordinators will be responsible for all billing and credentialing aspects of the organization, and coordinating their direct duties with the other related professionals (e.g. therapy staff, office manager, payroll, therapy program director, testing program director, financial director, executive director).
Specific duties include:
· Completing health insurance credentialing/paneling applications for new psychotherapy staff;
· Keeping all insurance credentialing/paneling information current for all professional staff;
· Maintaining CAQH accounts for all professional staff;
· Coding and billing mental health insurance claims;
· Advocating for payment of rejected billing claims;
· Performing health insurance benefits checks;
· Coordinating and processing client co-payments, deductibles and private pay;
· Running revenue and other related reports in coordination with relevant staff;
· Communicating activities with relevant staff;
· Training relevant staff on billing and credentialing procedures.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required;
· Health care billing and credentialing training & experience required;
· Proactive organizing, prioritizing, and self-starting skills are required;
· Flexibility to switch between tasks and projects required;
· Relevant math and problem solving abilities required;
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team required;
· Advanced skills with Excel preferred;
· Behavioral/mental health billing and credentialing experience preferred;
· Use of therapy-based billing software preferred (e.g. TherapyNotes; TheraNest, Simple Practice).
