Fairgrounds - New Orleans, LA is Hiring a Lead Cage Cashier Near Orleans, LA

Essential Functions

  • Safeguards Cage and Main Bank assets and safekeeping funds.
  • Adheres to all company cage department policies and procedures.
  • Handles all transactions between department staff.
  • Maintains key control as custodian of sensitive slot keys.
  • Verifies soft count funds accepted into Main Bank accountability.
  • Receives wrapped slot drop, verify to weigh count, and takes into cage accountability.
  • Completes fill transactions when fill bank is closed.
  • Prepares and provides security over slot machine.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Monitors cage activities for adherence to company policies and gaming regulatory requirements.
  • Assists the Cage Manager in hiring and scheduling cage operations personnel.
  • Instructs, guides, and counsels assigned personnel in the proper performance of their duties. Prepares and coordinates the periodic performance reviews of assigned personnel.
  • Recommends changes to management for improvements to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Implements cage department policies and procedures established by company management consistent with internal controls and gaming regulations.
  • Reviews cage department statistical and financial reports for accuracy.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Sometime responsible for supervising the Cage and Main Bank

Education and/or Experience: High school degree or GED required. Five years’ experience in vault or banking operations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regard to the implementation of current duties.

Licenses/Certificates: Must be 21 years or older. Must have the ability to obtain a work permit issued by the Louisiana State Police.

Physical Demands: Constant wrist motion, sit, hear and eye/hand coordination; Frequently speak, read, write, stand, walk, bend and stoop; Occasionally lift, carry, push and pull. sit and talk. The employee frequently is also required to stand, walk and reach with arms and hands, bend and have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds. Office/Casino environment; Subject to outdoor temperature; Exposed to smoke bright lights and noise at times. The work environment consists of very non-demanding surroundings with a low noise level.
