Performance Qualifications: 

Description/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education required

• K-8, 5-12 Math Certification Required, 5-8 Algebra for HS Credit 

• Preferred experience in classroom teaching in middle grades 

• Preferred background with math professional development (8 High Leverage Instructional Practices & math shifts)

1. Meet the eight Iowa teaching standards and criteria.

1. Teacher will be responsible for at least 6 sections of 8th grade math and a MTSS math intervention section. 

1. Teacher will use IM math curriculum and pre-assessments to identify areas of need to target for intervention for the CORE classroom and MTSS groups for all 8th graders.

1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

1. Develops and implements programming according to student needs.

1. Integrate technology to enhance student engagement and achievement.

1. Effectively design data-driven instruction and interventions.

1. Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless, student-centered instruction. Builds positive relationships with parents and the community.

1. Exhibit willingness to be reflective and grow professionally.

1. Engage students and families in the program.

1. Utilize Leader in Me and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies.

1. Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities.
