Day in the Life of an EVS Concierge:

Under general supervision, the Environmental Services (EVS) Concierge will serve as a representative of EVS department at Cheyenne Regional Health System (Cheyenne Regional) in designated units/areas and is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in Cheyenne Regional facilities, interacting hospitably, cheerfully, and supportively with staff, patients, visitors, and work colleagues.

Here's what you will be doing:

• Ensures the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.

• Completes patient interviews and new admission visits to all assigned units within timeframe established by department leadership.

• Assists in developing and / or monitoring a department / unit patient experience action plan and reporting to clients as needed.

• Completes housekeeping tasks when requested by patients, visitors, or staff.

• Responds to service recovery opportunities and resolves housekeeping issues that do not meet standards and ensures housekeeping tasks are followed up on and completed in a timely matter.

• Utilizes proper infection control practices (personal protective equipment, procedures, etc.). Uses proper chemicals and equipment safely to ensure no harm to self, other individuals, or the environment.

• Performs assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, floors, and trash removal according to departmental policies and procedures.

• Restocks and replenishes service carts and supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc., located in all assigned areas of the facility.

• Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary. Places detailed information on repair tags for equipment in need of service. Protects equipment from damage by proper use.

• Completes all required documentation which may include sign in and out sheets, room cleaning checklists, etc. using Microsoft Office and similar technologies to complete required documentation and forms.

• Performs special projects such as floor care, windows washing, wall washing, removing heavily soiled items or furnishings as needed.

• Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors. Meets or exceeds goals for customer service satisfaction.

• Covers EVS Lead as needed.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES: Empties all medical waste containers. Takes EVS service requests via radio/pager and phone. Manages Bedboard Cleaning Requests using system notifications.

• PATIENT ROOMS: Responsible for stripping the linen from the beds after patient use.

Unlicensed and/or unsupervised personnel may come in contact with medications while performing their job duties, but it is outside their scope of practice to handle medications.

Desired skills:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision

• Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions

• Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone, radio, pager

• Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for dilution and use of cleaning chemicals

• Ability to work diverse shifts which may include weekends and holidays

• Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office skills

Here’s what you will need:

• One (1) or more years of customer service experience

Nice to have:

• High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree

• Experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.

• Bilingual
