We are expanding mental health peer recovery services! Be part of new and innovative Peer Mental Health Program. This new position under supervision will provide peer support to individuals served through the Peer Journey to Hope Program and the CSB Division of Recovery Services. Services provided may include group peer support, individual peer support, recovery planning, and services navigation. Services may be provided in collaboration with the CSB’s Behavioral Health Outpatient Programs (BHOP), CSB Entry Assessment and Referral, self-referral and/or other programs. Collaborates as needed with other staff and community partners including Case Managers, Therapists, Nurses, and Psychiatrists. Primary office location is the Bulova Center for Community Health, with other service locations at multiple program sites, virtually and in-person, and/or in the community. Populations served are individuals with mental health challenges. This is a 20-hour per week position with the team operating Monday through Friday. Flexible work days and times available.

Note: This position may not exceed 900 hours per calendar year.

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Graduation from high school or a GED issued by a state department of education;
Plus 4 months of experience in providing peer/recovery support services.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP) within six months of employment.
Some positions in this class require Registration upon hire. Certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) with the Virginia Certification Board does not meet this requirement.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record, a Child Protective Services Registry, a TB screen, and a Sanctions Screening to the satisfaction of the employer.

Some positions within this classification require a valid Motor vehicle driver’s license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) at time of appointment and maintained throughout employment.
