Essential Functions

Experience and Education: High school diploma or GED, and one to three years related experience and/or training required; equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, and building systems in healthcare facilities (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical). Ability to communicate effectively with residents, their family members, and associates at all levels of the organization. Certifications licenses and other specific requirements: valid state driver's license required for vehicle travel as needed.
Management/Decision Making: Uses limited independent judgment to make decisions based on precedents and guidelines. Knows when to refer issues to the supervisor and when to handle them personally.
Knowledge and Skills: has working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the organization and an ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
