Unless otherwise stated, all vacancies with a specific closing date close at 9 : 00 PM Alaska time. Job Summary : Ready Raven (RR) is a 22-day intensive, literacy-focused, fun opportunity for 4 and 5 year old children who will enroll in kindergarten this fall.

The teams selected will be fully embracing and using the RR model. RR kits, materials, and information received from the two-day training will be the key components of the instructional model and materials.

It will be important for staff who may be interested in working this summer to be especially focused and able to capture the program components, philosophy and intent.

General Responsibilites / Duties : Assisting teacher with Ready Raven responsibilities and helping to monitor 15 students.

Hourly Rate : Grade 5 in accordance with Article 7.11 of the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Program Dates : May 28-June 28, 2024

Work Schedule : Part Time, Work Hours Determined by Supervisor

Job Qualifications / Requirements :

Experience as a teaching assistant with primary classes

• The ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Physical and Mental Demands

Requires hearing and speaking to exchange information on the telephone or in person. The employee is regularly required to reach with his / her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.

Must be able to use carts, ladders, dollies, and stools to assist in moving or shelving items. Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity to operate a keyboard and other office equipment.

Repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers may also be required. Additionally, the employee must be able to communicate by oral and written means in an appropriate business manner and have cognitive skills to understand instructions, readily recall facts and details, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
