Job Description Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor SummaryResearch Tool & Die Works powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. A candidate must be able to perform repair and maintenance to a variety of punch press and stamping machines which include C Frame, Aida, Bliss, and Seyi. Understanding of electrical systems (480 V3 110) and mechanical systems (motor control switching) is extremely important for this role. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are crucial for a candidate to succeed as an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Research Tool & Die Works. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Repair, maintain, dismantle, adjust, and assemble industrial machinery and equipment, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. Much be familiar with engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, including hydraulic and punch (C Frame, Aida, Bliss, and Seyi) Responsible for the preventative maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment Must be able to test and operate machinery to ensure it functions correctly Must be able to adjust and calibrate equipment or machinery to optimal specifications Must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures Assemble, dismantle, and overhaul machinery and equipment, using hand and power tools and shop equipment Read part drawings/manuals and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services. Demonstrate proficient/effective use of skills in electrical, mechanical, and automation areas including troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of machine components. Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Understand fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics) and all the components involved in these processes, including valves, cylinders, pumps, and compressors. Have a basic knowledge of lathes, milling machines, and grinders involved in making customized parts or repairs Ability to perform the basic duties of general pipefitter, carpenter, electrician, and welder, including the ability to work with an array of precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, thickening gauges, and such Adhere to company malpractice, safety, and ethics policies. Follow all ISO 90001/AS9100 Policies and Procedures Other duties assigned by the supervisor Qualifications and Educational Requirements Good written and verbal communication skills Must have at least 5-7 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician. Must have knowledge of press room equipment which includes, punch press, hydraulic press, and all relevant material Technical school or apprentice certificate preferred High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Strong Attention to Detail This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident, or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis. This is a full-time 40-hour-per-week position; however, overtime will be scheduled as needed. The standard shift is from 7:00 AM-4:15 PM Monday-Thursday and 7:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday.
