SCHEDULE Monday – Thursday (7AM – 5:30 PM) Seasonally could require five days/weeks

LOCATION Primary location in Buena Vista with potential periodic work in surrounding towns

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Site Crew Lead - Landscaping 

The unique value that the construction division Site Crew Lead brings to the team is that they are a main driver for project completion on development sites. This individual has the knowledge and skill to not only compete the needed landscaping tasks, but also can lead and teach a team of employees to complete tasks. The ideal candidate owns each project, is willing to “fill the gaps” that get in the way of project completion, works well with other team leaders, and is excited to continually do work better and more efficient every day. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Aid in exterior site trenching and soil grading on development sites 

• Help complete various landscaping projects in order to create great looking properties and homes. 

• Landscaping tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Tree and shrub installation 

  • Mulching 

  • Gravel walkway installation 

  • Grading work 

  • Sod installation 

  • Drip irrigation 

• Build and install fencing for set homes 

• Train and supervise a team on projects pertaining to exterior preparation 

• Help coordinate and support various subcontractors 

• Meet the production demands of assigned landscape projects while embracing the challenge of pioneering efficient processes 

• Work independently and with team member learn and utilize standardized production processes 

• Assist setting homes on foundations when homes arrive on site. 

• Ensure team or direct reports are accurately categorizing task categories per job costing codes. 

• Teach, train, and guide direct reports on how to complete various tasks to Fading West quality standards.

• Help foster a positive team culture day-to-day for all direct reports and co-workers

• Coordinate with Site Superintendent and Director of Operations to deliver Fading West Construction projects on time and on budget 

• Manage tools and materials for all assigned scopes of work. 

• Manage basic level of employee issues and elevate as needed.

• Maintain clean and safe work environment. 

• Assists other site crews as needed.

• Follow, implement, and improve standard operating procedures.

• Increase the function and capacity of Fading West Construction through an innovative approach to project organization and management 

• Perform or schedule service on site equipment as needed 

• Maintain willingness to contribute anywhere needed in order to advance the progress of Fading West Construction projects 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• 3 years of landscaping experience preferred 

• 3 years of heavy equipment operating preferred 

• Proven Leadership experience 

• Must have and maintain a valid driver license 

• Experience with irrigation preferred 

 REQUIREMENTS 

• In-Person (this position cannot be performed remotely)

• This role requires signing a confidentiality agreement, intellectual property rights agreement, and non-compete and non-disclosure agreement

• Background check results that meet Fading West’s standards 

• Reference check that speaks to the positive character of the applicant 

• May be required to regularly stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time, lift or carry more than 50 pounds, climb/balance on stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch 

• Must be competent and comfortable in basic computer skills and navigating modern technology 

COMPENSATION 

• Hourly Rate Range: $24.00 to $33.65 per/hour (Rate commensurate with experience) 

• Fading West rigorously adheres to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-201(1)
