The Event Sponsorship Manager develops and executes the Event Strategy brief, works with cross functional business partners, senior leaders and marketing colleagues to execute on agreed companywide sponsorship goals and objectives. In this role, you will leverage your existing strategic event management and sponsorship expertise and experience to support the FM Global brand experience and engagement mission. Working closely with the Manager of Events and Sponsorship, you will take charge of marketing programs from conception to implementation, lead in-take, brand recognition strategies, project kick-off, lead all operational planning meetings, develop attendee experience, facilitate all event sponsorship communication, manage all logistics surrounding sponsorship events, dedicated financial management expertise, on-site execution, management of support staff (internal and external) whether on site or via virtual facilitation and administer in-depth post event reconciliation, budgets and manage all final event debrief with stakeholders and agencies.

Along with other programs, this position will hold the primary responsibility for forwarding FM Global’s aims in the sports sponsorship arena. We have an existing 5-year relationship with the LPGA, and are looking to maximize the investment, and potentially enter into other similar investments. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a sponsorship program that activates our employees across the globe, delights our clients, positively contributes to our communities, and to our positive results as a company. If selected, you will play a key role in strategizing, implementing and coordinating event execution of omnichannel marketing roadmaps (enablement, PR, advertising, multimedia, viral, interactive/web, direct mail, events, exhibits, etc.) aligned to audience journeys and client experience, work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Client Service and other internal and external colleagues.

Responsibilities

The Event Sponsorship Manager is responsible for:

Negotiating and managing sponsorship agreements and serving as a liaison with corporate partners on sponsorship execution.

Managing the sponsorship and event budget, including all aspects of financial management coordinating sponsor invoicing and tracking of program components and informing stakeholders, including the functional leader, of status and issues.

Delivering best-in-class guest engagement, event experiences that advance FM Global’s KRAs and objectives as part of integrated marketing campaigns.

Facilitating all aspects of domestic and international sponsorship events, internal/external meetings, customer facing meetings/events, and industry events around the globe. Developing the Event Strategy brief, incorporating FM Global’s core business values and objectives, marketing and event goals, and communications.

Collaborating with senior leadership, internal stakeholders and external industry agencies/partners to ensure successful strategic event execution. This includes on-going pre-meetings with stakeholders, business partners, event communications, attendee registration management, hotel and venue sourcing, contract negotiations, food and beverage provisioning, meeting room set-ups, on-site management, manage hosted events at FM Global properties facilities, provide gifting experiences and recommendations, transportation management, coordination of third parties, and post-event survey management.

Building relationships with Marketing, Client Service, Sales, and Operations peers within and outside FM Global to ensure collaborative, strategic event sponsorship strategies and recommending resources to achieve desired results.

Developing a good understanding of client and partner needs and the Client Service and Sales processes to ensure the needs of the business are addressed.

Ensuring all work is done within agreed-to event practices and procedures, and in alignment with the brand positioning and compliance.

Providing expertise and recommendations and guidance to enable new business development, retention of C Suite clients.

Managing all meeting logistics with agencies, vendors, venues and suppliers for assigned programs. Tracking relevant information, generate progress reports, and give updates throughout the planning cycles. Communicating pro-actively with C-Suite stakeholders, clients, agencies and other suppliers to manage expectations and lead workflows, along with all aspects of the sponsorship and event project plan.

Establishing project plans and identifying KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing programs; track, analyze, and optimize effectiveness, efficiency, creativity, agility and quality of programs.

Ensuring that event and sponsorship projects deliver goals, objectives and deliverables on time, meet, established budgets and satisfy stakeholder, customer and business needs.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in Event/Hospitality Management, Sports Marketing, Communications, or Business

Required Work Experience:

  • 5 years of marketing experience is required, with an emphasis on sports marketing or sponsorship activation in a corporate and/or agency setting.

Highly Preferred Work Experience:

  • 8-10 years of increasingly responsible positions in a corporate and/or agency setting.
  • Global experience in a corporate environment.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of strategic event and sponsorship management and how to best to prioritize plans and campaigns to achieve Corporate and Operations objectives.
  • Understanding of how marketing plans and tactics will support achieving the objectives at a global and regional level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and relationship management skills, negotiating, and strong project management experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of marketing tools, tactics, and techniques in general.
  • Solid understanding of the business priorities of FM Global and its various business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and run global and locale integrated strategic plans with detailed objectives and proven ROI.
  • Consistent track record of delivery of tight budgets and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and creative thinking and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills-demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Competencies in Microsoft Teams and other virtual meeting hosting platforms, Cvent, contemporary communications vehicles, and event management software

The hiring range for this position is $100,400 to $144,300 annually. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience. The position is eligible to participate in FM Global’s comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes an incentive plan, generous health and well-being programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work, time off allowances and much more.
