Job Summary
FSI is looking to hire a Structural/General Maintenance Shop Supervisor to join our team. This position serves as the Supervisor for the structural/general maintenance shop exercising supervisory responsibility over various trade categories such as carpentry, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, HVAC controls, electrical (including electrical controls), paint, sheet metal, masonry, and glazing. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The structural/general maintenance shop maintains, repairs, installs, and performs inspection of carpentry items such as framing, finish work, ceramic tile, floor and wall coverings, ceilings, roofing, cabinets, and hardware on buildings, structures, and facilities. Shall ensure match of existing and surrounding materials on buildings, structures and facilities when repairing, replacing, and removing carpentry items. Shall layout, install, replace, repair, and remove interior and exterior walls, floors, platform towers, bridges, steps and handrails, ceilings, roofs, and components to include studs, ceiling and floor joists, diagonal bracing, cripples, trimmers, headers, fire blocks, sole plates, top plates, piers, girders, rafters, ridges, and bridging. Must be able to install, repair, replace, and remove various types of roofing such as gravel asphalt, rolled, mono-form, shingle, industrial membrane, tile, slate, wood, and metal roofing. Responsible for scheduling and performing PM on the Post buildings and facilities; conducts structural component inspections, e.g., (I-beams, rafters, pillars). Submits deficiencies that require more than four hours of work to correct per unit on a Job Order Request (DA Form 4283) or a Service Order Request upon discovering any work that exceeds the scope of preventive maintenance requirements.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
Minimum five years in various trades and/or certified credentials. Shall possess a working knowledge of planning, assigning, and directing work. Shall be experienced managing various trade categories such as carpentry, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, HVAC controls, electrical (including electrical controls), paint, sheet metal, masonry, and glazing. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess or be able to obtain a NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries).
