Electrical System Support Technician

Job Summary

FSI is urgently looking to hire an on-site Electrical System Support Technician to join our team. This position shall apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.

Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Knowledge working from O&M manuals, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose troubles/alarms in the multiple low and higher voltage systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting fire alarm systems and mass notification systems on the fire alarm system network, and interconnections to stairway pressurization, amplifier systems, public address, doors, kitchen hoods and fans.
• Experience with lighting and lighting control systems, lightning protection systems, 277V/480V and 120V/208V distribution systems.
• Experience with common electrician hand tools, measuring and testing instruments and computer-based maintenance applications.
• Should also be proficient in identifying code requirement issues.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• Two (2)-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• All state or federal requirements; or any license or certification that may be required by the contract in which the employee is working.
• Notifier Fire Systems (Within 180 days)
• NICET Level II for fire alarm
• Control System Fire-Lite Fire Systems
• Swiss Log Pneumatic Tube Certification (Within 180 days)
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Must possess or obtain a NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries).

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. In an 8-hour day, must be able to sit, bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand and walk; to use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single grasp motion; and to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
