Summary
Responsible for processing instrumentation and equipment. Stores, distributes and maintains inventory of required sterile and disposable supplies.
Responsible for services supporting primarily for the Operating Room, Inpatient and Outpatient Nursing Units, Pulmonary, Anesthesia Departments as well as satellite offices and healthcare associates outside of Maine Medical Center.
Implements critical thinking in a complex work environment. Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of sterile processing to include decontamination, instrument assembly, prep and pack, sterilization and distribution to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Attainment of Level III is expected to occur within three (3) years from date of hire.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Current National Certification as Central Sterile Processing and Distribution required.
