The Case Manager Supervisor supervises mental health-targeted case managers who assist individuals (recipients) with complex needs in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services by coordinating the provision of quality treatment and support services in the most efficient and effective manner.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Mental health-targeted case management supervisors must meet the following requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and five years of full-time or equivalent case management experience serving the target population.
• You must bring to the position a previous mental health targeted case management experience as a certified supervisor (CBHCMS ).
• CAQH Provider Number
• MedicaId Provider Number.

DUTIES: Include the following.

• Supervise targeted case management staff providing service to child and/or adult consumers.
• Primary responsibility of screening referrals of recipients.
• Monitor targeted case management records to ensure that all services being provided are documented and that all mandated paperwork is completed on time.
• Ensure targeted case management services are provided according to Medicaid regulations and that the expected direct service contacts are made.
• Develop constructive relationships with key staff both inside and outside of the agency who provide services to clients.
• Monitor time sheets, expense sheets, and other resources needed to insure effective service delivery.
• Submit monthly reports, and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

· Assigns caseloads and related duties, and coordinates staff activities providing case manager services to clients.

• Performs individual and group supervision to analyze case problems and improve their case management and helping skills; documents supervision as appropriate.
• Reviews case records and evaluates performance of staff members; recommends document correction actions.
• Assists case managers in emergencies, and when case consultation is needed and planned with specific cases.
• Trains new employees in agency policies, department procedures, and agency or regulated protocols/regulations.
• Conducts staff meetings to review and discuss FFMHS case management program progress and/or new procedures.
• Review individual cases with staff, providing clear and concise case management direction

· Assures compliance with respect to state, local and federal laws.

• Communicates and interacts well with other Case Management Organizations, Lead Agencies, and Community Providers.
• Reviews Service Plans prepared by staff to ensure that the tasks accurately reflect the needs of the Person served.
• Review and forward all individual incidents of neglect and programmatic issues, and physical abuse data to the appropriate agencies.

CASE MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS: Each supervisor must keep an ongoing log documenting his/her supervision of each mental health case manager and meetings. The log must contain, at a minimum, the amount of supervision and length of time that the supervision took, the case manager’s name, and the specific target population he serves.
