Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree preferred; Two years relevant work experience working with at-risk populations required; Experience with specific assessment, intake or interview experience required; Experience working with at-risk populations; Experience leading and coordinating event and activities preferred; Computer capability with Microsoft Office, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint; Reliable transportation, auto insurance and valid LA driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• At all times, provide professional, friendly, and welcoming interaction with participants, referring agency personnel, and corporate partner
• Conduct volunteer and youth enrollment
• Conduct volunteer background checks
• Manage a caseload of volunteer/youth matches
• Assess individual volunteer training needs to ensure volunteer ability to serve at-risk population
• Assist in preparing presentation materials and setting up for presentations, as necessary
• Coordinate and participate in group activities and other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, outreach activities, special events, and data collection and reporting
• Work with team at events and activities to actively engage families and volunteers, providing meaningful support and interaction to develop participant relationships
• Maintain ongoing communication about services to agencies who refer volunteers and youth to the program
• Represent agency on community youth committees
• Communicate with volunteers, youth, and parents regarding activities, workshops, etc.
• Prepare draft reports for supervisor review
• Provide required input to monthly activity newsletter
• Develop new relationships with groups that are potential sources of volunteer
• Provide timely and comprehensive written summaries of all contacts
• Design and implement strategies to recruit culturally diverse and Spanish-speaking mentors
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Director and/or CEO
