Job Summary: Drive company trucks making deliveries to customers while complying with all Corporate State and Federal regulations.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

Drive company trucks or other authorized vehicles in a safe, responsible and legal manner for delivery of merchandise to assigned customers. Maintain DOT and HazMat regulations, update hours/mileage and advise management when or near hours/mileage maximum.

Route the truck through established procedures. Know, observe and understand when cargo dictates, the HazMat requirements of the route.

Deliver and unload all merchandise specified on shipping tickets to customers’ locations and designated receiving areas. Ensure customer signs delivery ticket upon receiving merchandise. Provide signed delivery tickets to designated person upon returning to warehouse. Make notations regarding delivery problems, shortages, damages, etc. and submit notes made to designated person upon return.

Accurately collect cash or payment for COD deliveries as mandated by the credit department.

Pick up returned merchandise, if any, from customers. Immediately unload and process with documentation returned merchandise upon returning to the company’s warehouse.

Safely and properly operate pallet jack, forklift, lift gate on truck, hand truck and other equipment as assigned to accomplish tasks. Wear safety items and follow safety rules required by management. Comply with local, state and federal laws and company rules in the performance of job duties.

Interact with customer’s personnel in a courteous, respectful and cooperative manner at all times. Represent the company in a positive and safe manner. Follow company dress code.

Prepare logs and trip sheets for each trip in accordance with required company procedures. Complete properly and submit timely trip reports, accident reports, incident reports, expense reports or other documentation as required by management.

Perform daily truck inspection, complete truck log and ensure truck is in a legal and serviceable condition. Maintain truck’s cleanliness and all equipment per company policies.

May perform other warehouse duties as assigned (e.g., fill orders, package merchandise, count inventory, etc.). Work schedules, hours and overtime as directed by management.

Interact and coordinate with inside and outside warehouse personnel with merchandise, manifest, details of returned merchandise or other customer delivery issues.

Job Qualifications:

Must have valid commercial drivers license with DOT medical card, HazMat endorsements and an acceptable driving record. Ability to safely handle 50 lb. weight boxes and packages regularly. Read and write English effectively.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
